Our freedom, our Republic, has been paid for by the blood of patriots, paid on a regular basis through history. Nothing could deserve our honor and respect more. We're fast approaching the anniversary of D_Day, the invasion of Normandy which cost the lives of 9,387 Americans in a confrontation with evil. This year, president Obama will be attending the ceremonies. But with a different twist than his predecessor, George W Bush.
From Big Hollywood's John Romano:
Obama’s State Department has asked (read demanded) the French
government not allow tour guide services to operate that day. It is a
big day for Normandy tourism. Yet, the king will not allow those not
connected with government to enjoy the day. Compare that with 2004. Security was tight as President Bush and other
world leaders were in attendance, but the event was still open to all.
A friend relayed the story of waiting in line to use a port-a-potty (a
French port-a-potty no doubt, yuck, believe me.) She looks to her left
and who he is in the next line waiting patiently? President Bush.
Sure he had Secret Service nearby, but he waited like everyone else.
What's missing in President Barack Obama? Any appreciation or recognition for the need of
- The Constitution.
- Capitalism.
-
Liberty.
-
Responsibility.
But these things were in large supply among the greatest generation who are now slipping away, and are in the next greatest generation, the ones returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. God bless them all.
