Coffee instead of Kool-Aid...

A remarkable thing has happened the last few days to the Obama for World President Campaign.  They ran out of incense, the congregation started to step out for a smoke, the altar boys have left for baseball practice and the bright light of truth and reality has been focused on the Candidate.  And the media.  And they don't like it one bit.  And the effect ripples. The New Republic says:
as Obama ascended from underdog to front-runner to presumptive nominee, the flame seems to have dwindled. Reporters who cover Obama these days grouse that Obama's flacks shroud the campaign in secrecy and provide little to no access.
He's taking some serious jabs now, and deservedly.  His stunt at the Wall in Jerusalem has offended more people than His Cluelessness realizes.  From American Spectator:
To see this holiest place reduced to the theater of the ego was disconcerting. Senator Obama tells us that he is a serious man. Indeed, ABC reported that he complained on the plane afterwards that he had expected a greater atmosphere of reverence.
This guy is overreaching.  His hype is too big, and he'll never be able to deliver.  Already, some people in Berlin are shrugging and going, "I thought he was supposed to be a big deal?"  In Der Speigel:
Anton Kliegl, however, a 50-year-old managing consultant from Regensburg, didn't see things that way. "In general I have to say I was a bit disappointed," Kliegl said. "The coverage of the primaries created this impression that he was an amazing speaker who could carry away his audience. He didn't do that tonight. I really expected more."
They expected the Messiah to deliver the Inauguration speech of the New World Leader.
Julie Hagedorn, 38, a Canadian living with her German husband in Berlin told SPIEGEL ONLINE before the speech. "I want to hear it with my own ears when Obama says 'Ich bin ein Europäer (I am a European)."
They really wanted John Kerry.  Instead they got Barry O, the Chicago Hack Politician telling them NATO needs more from them.  NOT music to their ears.  It WAS a speech, however, riddled with falsehoods, incorrect assumptions, and arrogantly delivered as if no one would question it.  Don Surber analyzes the speech, finding a plethora of questionable statements, like his riff on 9/11:
The poverty and violence in Somalia breeds the terror of tomorrow.
As Don points out to Barack:
15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudis. None were poor kids from Somalia. Osama bin Laden is the son of a wealthy Saudi contractor.

The list goes on.  What does all this stuff mean?  It takes a few weeks for events to register in public opinion.  Truth, about Obama, about the Enemedia's love affair with him, is starting to take hold among the Moderate Middle. New Republic states:
there is an increasingly large body of evidence that Obama is now polling somewhere between 3-4 points off his peak numbers...it seems to have started -- or at least steepened -- coming out of the July 4 holiday, when some of the Obama is a flip-flopper narrative began to take root.
It's Morning in America, and the smell of coffee is in the air....
